Profiles in Solitude

I have been shooting photos of people alone for years. Profiles in Solitude is a group of digitally created images taken from these photos, where I have observed people in their moments of aloneness. My work reflects my observations about people, a celebration of the human experience and our range of emotions. It is also about the commonalities that bind us together. Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to create work that celebrates our shared experiences and what makes us human.

Through my art, I strive to empathize and capture the emotions of relatable experiences I use a variety of media, including paint, photography, and encaustic, to explore the complexities of the inner feelings of the subject. My process is to start by capturing a moment with a photo that reveals the personality of the subject. From there, I develop it into a digital painting through the use of software.

I believe that art has the power to help us empathize with people, and I am honored to be a part of this rich and vibrant tradition.
